New to Astronomy?
Watch our introduction video to learn about the Naperville Astronomical Association and what we do!
Is This for Me?
Yes. Many of our members knew little about the subject when they joined.
Over the years, thousands of children and adults have gotten glimpses of the wonders of the universe through our telescopes, many for their first time.
What Can I See?
More than you’d think, even from the suburbs.
Do I Need a Telescope?
No. Start with your eyes and a planisphere, then binoculars. Look through ours before you buy one.
- Binos are a great way to learn the sky: with their wide views, you can take in large parts of constellations, sweep Milky Way clouds, and even see many Messier objects.
- Most first time buyers usually look at 6″–8″ Dobsonians. During public nights, we try to set up our Dobsonians on the observing platform for use.
How Do I Start?
