Why I Like My Telescope
Presenter: Ron Ziss, Ed Armstrong, and Andy Salata
Many who are new to the hobby ask, “What is the best telescope.” This is the hardest question to answer, because more likely the answer will depend on who you ask. And that answer may favor the telescope the person thinks is best for themselves. The reason the question is hard to answer is that there is no perfect telescopes that will do everything you may want. The best answer to this question is to try out different telescopes at a star party or at a public outreach. These gatherings have hobby enthusiasts who may share view through their telescope and you can ask questions. What questions to ask is another topic.
Fortunately, our next fundamentals meeting may help you learn more about telescopes and learn what to ask. Our March Fundamentals will be all about OTAs (Optical Tube Assemblies). NAA club members, Ron Ziss, Ed Armstrong, and Andy Salata will share what they like about their preferred set-up. We hope this discussion will help you in your search for what OTA set-up may work best for you.
This event is open to the public and free of charge.
