Greg will discuss some history of the manufacturers, some details about their trials and tribulations, the dealer base then and now, and some info about our industry not too many outsiders know. He will also touch on what it takes to market an astronomy company in today’s world as well as the overall health of the industry.

Greg started selling astronomy related products in the early 1980’s in a camera store. He carried all the major brands but knew nothing about astronomy when he started. In 2005 he worked for Meade as an independent sales rep while selling photo products in the southeast. He later became their VP of Specialty Sales for several years.
He then worked for Explore Scientific as their Director of Specialty Sales and later was the Sales Manager for Sport Optics at Pentax.
In 2019, he became the Specialty Accounts Sales Manager at Celestron and currently has around 200 active accounts with Celestron. He is responsible for the Mid-West, Western US, Canada and a handful of dealers in the south and east and manages the sales of Celestron and Sky-Watcher products to astronomy dedicated retailers as well as outdoor stores, nature stores, hobby stores and camera stores.
