When we look up at the stars, we’re seeing a random array of stars, bright and dim. But our brains are wired to look for patterns in things, and in the stars, we end up seeing plenty of them!
Public Outreach Officer Rick Gering will introduce us to the wonderful world of asterisms: what they are, why you should know about them and where to find some of the more important, interesting, and amusing examples.

This event is open to the public and free of charge.
