Tackling a Messier Marathon
Presenter: Steve Sagarian, NAA
The Messier Catalog holds over 100 celestial objects located beyond our solar system, most of which are readily viewable in amateur’s telescopes. During a couple of weeks of the year, it is possible to view all of the objects, which are spread across the sky, in one night of observing. Such an all-night undertaking is called a Messier Marathon.
Steve will pass along instructions and pointers for how to successfully tackle a Marathon, and will introduce the plans to organize one — including practice sessions — for members at the end of March this year.
The public is welcome to attend, free of charge.
