Visual Journey to the Planets

Presenter: Ron Ziss

The planets will return to good visibility starting this autumn. In October, Ron Ziss will cover observing the planets—when they will be best seen and what features to look for. Ron will share his observations to highlight the key features of Jupiter and the phenomena of its moons, Saturn’s rings and bright moons, and the motions of Uranus and Neptune. He will also describe the upcoming opposition of Mars, which will bring it to good visibility by the end of the year, and touch on how to catch Venus and Mercury in the twilight skies. Additionally, Ron will encourage “checking in” on the planets to observe changes as the season progresses.

The location is downstairs, in the lunch room.

The public is welcome to attend, free of charge.

This event is open to the public and free of charge.
