Planning Your Observation Sessions with Atmospheric Software
Presenter: Jim Hopkins
This talk will discuss astrospheric software for accurate astronomy weather forecasting. It is free software, which like the clear sky chart, uses hour by hour data for cloud cover, sky transparency including smoke from fires along with seeing conditions. The program includes sun and moon rise and setting times, the solar Kp index, the wind direction, and much more. Jim will help you learn how to save your favorite sites, and he will provide a handout for you to take home.
The public is welcome to attend, free of charge.
Jim is a long-time NAA member and former Astronomy teacher at Naperville North High School. He’s given countless astronomical talks to schools and groups at star parties.
This event is open to the public and free of charge.
