An Introduction to Refracting Telescopes
Presenter: Rick Gering, NAA
There are 3 main types of telescopes that amateur stargazers use: ones that use lenses to gather and focus light, ones that use mirrors, and ones that combine the two. This month’s Fundamentals program will look at the first kind — refracting (lens) telescopes. What sorts of observing are they the best choice for? Is a refractor the right telescope for you? How do you get the most out of using one? Rick, who owns a number of refractors, will present some practical insight into these questions.
The public is welcome to attend, free of charge.
