How do you get a neutron binary star?
Presenter: Arend J. Poelarends Wheaton College
The first gravity waves which astrophysicists have detected originated when paired neutron stars merged. But how do neturon binary star systems form in the first place? Dr. Poelarends studies the lives of stars & supernovae through large computer simulations, and he’ll fill us in on the state-of-the-art ideas about how something so unlikely could come about.
The public is welcome to attend, free of charge.
