Astronomy Fundamentals

While total solar eclipses happen somewhere on Earth every year or two, it is rare to have one happen near to any particular spot, like the one that will pass across Illinois on Monday the 21st. Veteran total eclipse observer Rick will fill us in on the practical info of how to prepare for the eclipse, how to observe and enjoy it, and what to look for during the event. It is really worth preparing in advance, to get the most out of the few minutes of totality; come learn from an expert on how to get that way!
The public is welcome to attend, free of charge.
